About Gary and Gail Cardillo
Rumor has it that 1 out of every 7 people in the state of Florida have their real estate license. However, very few combine the diversity of their backgrounds to serve you as well as Gary and Gail. Both originally from New York, Gail was a portfolio manager in the asset management business and Gary was in the womans apparel industry as a national sales manager with the additional responsibilities of product development, for a publically held company. Looking to pursue an opportunity for themselves, Gary and Gail headed in a new direction and opened their own business as designers and decorators in the special event industry for society events as well as political and corporate functions. Their impressive clientele list included former Governor Carey of New York, and Mayor Rudolph Giuliani.
However, it was “a call out of the blue” from a company that owned the licensing rights to Liz Claiborne that facilitated Gary & Gail’s move to Florida. With his extensive travel of the state, Gary was able to learn about the state’s diverse culture, climate and architecture and has been able to use that experience to help compare the similarities and differences that Punta Gorda and the greater Port Charlotte area have to other parts of the state.
Between both of their travels, they became keenly aware of the opportunities to be had in the building and real estate industries and shortly after, Gary found a unique niche. Sensing the frustration homeowners were having with contractors who were not providing creative design options to meet their building and remodeling needs and the frustrations contractors were having trying to maximize their time in qualifying potential customers, Gary created a design consulting business that provided homeowners with design options and qualified contractors to meet their needs. Contractors were equally excited about the business as they were getting qualified “leads” from essentially an outsourced salesman. The customer saved time and money by avoiding costly mistakes and the contractor had less overhead and better use of their time.
With the real estate market in our area taking off as it has over the last few years, Gary and Gail decided to combine their unique backgrounds of finance and design consulting with real estate. Today Gary & Gail’s customers have a distinct advantage as they are presented real estate investment opportunities from a building and financial practicality standpoint. Questions regarding the financial feasibility of when it makes most sense to build, remodel or tear down, to purchase, rent or resale are all explored. “We help our customers make educated, not emotional decisions,” says Gail.
And if their combined experience is not enough, Gail being multi-lingual allows foreign investors to feel more at ease in the decision making process.
“Anyone can sell a house,” says Gary. “We sell our community and its lifestyle. Unless you feel part of the community it will be hard to call your house, your home. It is the people that make our community as special as it is.
With the recent hurricanes, our community was dealt a severe blow however, together we are rebuilding. With loss comes opportunity. Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte and the surrounding areas here in southwest Florida are coming back better than ever!
